A special award has been introduced this year in addition to The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service (QAVS) to commemorate the Platinum Jubilee. As with the Diamond Jubilee, this award will be aimed at national charities rather than the small local volunteer groups recognised by QAVS. On 31 March 2022, Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Lanarkshire, Lady Haughey CBE, planted the final tree and unveiled a commemorative plaque at the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Wood.
